  1. Not long had my 2022 ePure and have just arrived in Spain to give it a go, somewhat different to my back garden. I have the impression that the bike rolls on somewhat with the throttle closed, whereas in the garden, albeit very flat, I felt as though it always stopped. Is this normal? I did a decoder reset after being advised by a very useful YouTube video but it continues, and any sort of downslope requires braking.

Second question is that I have an electric car and charge this with the public charge points some of which have a normal two pin socket, (I live in France), which my charger would fit. Would it be a safe way to recharge?

    Thanks.

  2. I'm also thinking of changing. I ride here in France, GasGas 280 and a Yamaha WRF250 dirt, both of which I love, but feel more and more out of place with the climate, petrol burning and the noise to local countryside. I switched last year to an electric car. I rode an Electric Motion last week, with a clutch, and instantly felt well with the bike. The clutch was a bit unnecessary but as has been said above, it's habit.

Is Electric Motion the only ones in production at the moment?

the tape is not a gasser part its the same for all makes that age. The only trouble is getting an old style tape the new ones come with integrated valve and just dont seal easily. if at all.

Is the rim tape the same for tubeless and tubed wheels, or is one sticky?

  4. Hi All,

I have a 2003 Edition that's showing her age and I'm finding it difficult to find parts, plus I live in France, so it's also a question of vocabulary. I'm currently looking for the two o rings that sit inside the exhaust muffler as it is blowing there between the muffler and box. Plus I have a tubeless rear tyre which is new but still leaking air from two of the spokes so want to replace the tape that sits inside but where to find this? Tried all my local shops but nothing and searched on line. Any suggestions please?

  5. All good replies, thanks. Doing something together is very much part of this. He's not doing well at school, lack of interest more than anything and hoping this can find common ground instead of me pushing him all the time. His idea to do trials. We'll start looking with the above in mind.

The Hebo four pot calliper kits ARE available again. I just got some in a recent Gas Gas order.

They were obsolete for a while, but now Braktec are making them again. You can get just the seals, or the kit with seals and pistons.

    I contacted Braketech who said

Thank you for the inquiry Kevin
Sorry to advise we do not offer OE replacement components for your GasGas...Ferodo brake pads only.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

dherbeymoto.com ?......the most well known Trials specialist shop in France .....try using a search engine Mozilla Firefox/Google or whatever you have for example input this...'Partie GasGas trial' and then get the results it really is that easy.

Or you go to the GasGas factory website, hardly difficult to find that and then find out from that site where their distributors/dealers are and you have multiple choices of who to buy from.

Try this 'Concessionaire moto trial'  it just gave me multiple shops in france to obtain parts[I am not in Disneyland Paris] and the GasGas importer for France if they cannot help you then who can.

I am not French but I am curious to know how you found the trials central site.

Thank you. I'd tried a couple of sites in the UK but they wanted more than the cost of the parts in postage and my local shops for trials parts came up with no suggestions. I found this site by chance when I first bought the bike and knew little about maintaining the bike, not that I know that much now.

  8. Thanks, Huski. Bike is new to me and the rear brake was not working well. When I took out the pads they looked wet and I had a suspicion there was a leak. Do you think I have to replace the calliper or can I replace the seal? I'll check out your recommendation. Thanks.

  9. Hi All

I have a 2003 Edition and in the middle of changing the brake pads on the rear brake. I was easing the pistons out to clean and noticed on one piston, a small amount of liquid, I'm assuming brake fluid, leaks out of the side of the piston in the form of a small bubble. I'm guessing a seal somewhere has gone? Would really appreciate some guidance on what I do now. Thanks.

  10. Hi contiki

I'd always wanted to go on a dirt bike trip and, like you, that was fuelled by the Long Way Round. Kazakhstan was truly excellent and will be a great memory. A bit of a steep learning curve but has also given me the bug and I'm going to look for more adventures.

I think getting the Fantic right will be a steep learning curve!

  11. Hi,

I've bought a 1997 Fantic 250 (249) and I have air in the hydraulic clutch, I can see it in the transparent tube. I can't find anywhere to bleed it, nothing at the master cylinder and the tube goes down to the casing and there's nothing there either. Can anyone help with how you bleed the system, please? I've also got to find where the air is getting in and the master cylinder and especially the seals on the piston seem in good order. Thanks.
