  1. Firstly…. Well done for considering with an open mind. After a couple of try’s I think I have an idea garage for my fun (and lack of talent). I have an old bike for the classic easy trials and a modern 250 Beta for the easy route in a modern trial. I did attempt a twin shock on the easy route of a modern trial but I am afraid I lacked the skill to ‘keep on it’!!

My beta (as a gas gas would be) is easy to ride and light enough to pick up. It’s the smiles I have gone for and ease of maintenance.
good luck and let us know what you get.

Nice looking bikes.  Have you got hfs setup in the forks if so how do you like them and which one. Cheers

Yep HFS in the gripper forks. I picked the middle set up (Expert). I am no means an expert but the change was really noticeable with more feeling and control.

One thing that is so more obvious now that I am ‘getting’ on in years is fitness. I think that no matter how good the bike is, if not fit (which I could do with improving) control is sometimes lacking

  3. 2020 was a ‘nothing year’ and most people would like to not remember it. I found that I actually spent more money than I thought I could......... pictures to prove. Follow my gripper story #ossa_gripper on Instagram

  4. Hi ... just to resurrect this topic. I am looking at machining down a spare cush drive flyweight  to allow me to simply remove the existing weight and fit the machined down weight without any further mods... Will this work.

Also puzzled on a clutch problem... Is the clutch more prone to slip with lighter oil than heavier oil ??

  7. When I was introduced into Trials I brought home a OSSA picture from the local bike shop, Norman Crooks of Northallerton. I had this picture on my wall for two years before I managed to buy a bike. First bike was a Bultaco so never got my MAR but I did buy a Verde a few years later before I went working overseas and giving up Trialing.

So fast forward 35years and I have my MAR and also treated myself to the TR280i as this has got to be a classic for my boys
