  1. What is the very best gas for your Trial's bike? Very hard to find Ethanol free in Gatineau, Canada. What are the alternatives and recommendation?
  2. Does Bosi Mudguard and Front Fender (with Bosi bracket) fit my 2018 Evo 200. If you have installed these on a 2018 Evo 200 or know it will fit without problems, please let me know.
  3. I find no place where to install it on the frame... Can it be on the handlebars or it will lack vibration?
  4. Thanks a lot for the clarification as I was not understanding the free play as I should have before I read your post. I did readjust the free play with a little over 1 mm of free play before the plunger engage. I guess you can set the lever tight to the bar or 3/4" away from it as long as you readjust this free play of the plunger as you explain. Again, thanks a lot.
  5. Motorcycle is a 2018 Beta 200. How much free play is recommended from the clutch lever to the bars? None, finger thickness? Does one choice make the clutch drag and the other one not?
  6. The mechanic trick worked, the bike was already on the stand and soon as I turned the back wheel and pushed down on the shifter, it went down in 1st gear. The gear was not stocked in 1st gear, it did not want to go down from neutral to 1st gear. I also had succeeded to go in second when trying to shift the gear prior to that. I will now roll the bike back and forth as you did advise me in your message should it be needed to change gear when the engine is with power off as it was. Thanks a lot Dan!
  7. No, the shifter is not hitting anything.
  8. Dan, just called the mechanic and he said to put the bike on a stand and try to push on the shifter down and roll the back wheel at the same time to see if it will fall in place. What do you think? He said he just change the bolts, no removal of the assembly.
  9. Hi! My Trial 2018 Beta Evo doesn't shift in 1st gear while power is off? Normal? The only change my mechanic did this winter is installing the clutch spring retainer to ease lever action. Thanks for your help.

    Older gas

The question is just to know how long fuel can sit in the tank. Not a money question as fuel is cheap in Canada. Some say fuel should be removed after 5 to 6 weeks as it affects the carb, others say they drain their carb after each ride, some like you say not to worry, some others say residues in the carb could be very bad if it sits there for weeks...Thanks for your input.

    Older gas

If your Off Road bike has been sitting in a heated garage for +/- 5 months with a few liters of mix gas (Ethanol free) in the tank, should you drain this older gas and refill with fresher one? Thanks for your help.
  12. My 2018 Beta 200 Evo will go to the mechanic next week. I did no change for the rad coolant and it is as the dealer or Beta did for coolant inside the rad when I bought the bike. Is it safe to travel with the Evo in my trailer for 2 hours at -20C* outside. It is winter here. The coolant must be freezing proof as other bikes unless you change it? Thanks for your help.
  13. How can you change a 2018 Beta Evo 200 to a 250 power wise? If not possible, can you improve the power quite a bit with other changes to the engine? Thanks a lot for your help.
  14. Hi! I would really appreciate if someone could help me at setting the right tension on my 2018 Beta Evo 200. I cannot find any video on it or pictures with comments. Thanks for your help!
  15. My bike is a 2018 Beta Evo 200. What is the front and rear static sag and loaded sag? For the rear, I have 15mm static sag and 101mm loaded sag. The front is 48mm loaded sag. Do I need changes. Thanks. +
  16. What is the recommended oil change for a 2018 Beta Evo 200? Is every 15 hours OK or even 20 hours if strictly riding at moderate speed? Thanks
  17. Mark, sorry for my mistake in relation with you and BC as you are on the other side in USA and not in BC. I am sure it is as beautiful out there with great scenery as well.
  18. Mark, I meant Novice/Intermediate trails. I am also with short legs inseams and I tried sitting on another Beta Evo 300 with seat and felt kind of comfortable. The seat will be to recup in easier straights as my health keeps going down, it would help me to ride a little longer. BC the most beautifull province in Canada where I spent 16 years of my life. Squamish, Whistler, Cypress, Seymour, Grouse are all beautiful mountains I had the pleasure to ride (bicycle) or ski or walk/climb for whichever choice we had to conquer them. Not to forget Mount Baker USA which was a great challenge to ride up on a bicycle. Sadly, I did not have the opportunity to go on the Highland's mountain. I wish I could share a ride with you in your majestic mountains of BC. Ride on "Mark" and enjoy it all.
  19. Hi!, 1) Would a 2018 Beta Evo 200 be quite good to ride in the single trails with a seat and larger fuel tank (Level would be: Novice to intermediate single trails)? 2) Would the OEM Trial's tire be good enough for trail riding or knobby is a must at the very beginning of this experience or if I should try with the OEM Trial's tire to see how they react. Mostly rocky trails with roots. 3) I have lost much physical capacity due to health issues and the +/- 75 pounds weight reduction compared to the X Trainer helps me a lot. Thanks for sharing your experience
  20. Thanks lineaway, I just ordered my gas cap for my 2018 Beta Evo 200 from slatshop UK. It is crazy how hard it is to screw or unscrew the OEM gas cap, just unbelievable! Hope the delivery will be fairly fast to Canada. Lineaway, I do not see a nipple on the top of the gas cap they sell used for the vent hose as there is on the OEM, there must be a mechanism that replicate the action for that? Let me know if you have time. I am very poor in mechanic knowledge and appreciate a lot the support from co-riders.
  21. I cannot find a dealer that specify a Beta gas cap for the 2018 Beta Evo 200. Please give me a dealer's name so I can change the OEM one.
  22. What is the best way to "break in" a brand new 2018 Beta Evo 200. Thanks
  23. Hi! Dan Williams and everyone, I will pick up my 2018 Beta Evo 200 next Tuesday in Canada. Dan, I will let you know how it all goes with the washers for the clutch. Would you recommend that I run OEM set up before to appreciate the difference more or just install it right away to make it easier? As I am an old man and beginner in Trial, do you recommend that I install a throttle tamer for a while until I get use to the grip / power of the bike? Thanks a lot Dan for making it easier for me at riding this new Trial adventure and I will keep you inform.
  24. My friend has an electric 2017 OSET 24.0 RACE and is not very happy with the response of the bike. Did he make a bad purchase for a trial bike?
  25. Which boots are mostly recommended? Alpinestar Tech T or Gaerne Balance Oiled? They say ease of movement is more important than safety and hard shell which makes complete sense in Trials I think. Being a newbie, I am not sure. Thanks for your help. Another thing, is a helmet secondary for choice or weight being a big factor, do you recommend a special helmet's name?
