  1. when I was changing the seals on the waterpump, the impeller was broken in pieces, but the shaft looks ok but was further inside the engine because the impeller and circlip wasn't holding it out, would this be normal, or might it have done some damage

I can move the shaft in and out slightly (not taken it out) and does turn round freely

hope you can understand what I mean ,

    what do you think

    cheers

  2. hi  the fan stopped working today on our beta evo 125, i don't have a voltage tester so

could i test it with a car battery, to see if the fan is working and that it isn't the thermostat, would that be the correct voltage ??

    thanks

  3. hi i have been trying to take the forkseals out of the stanshions, the top seal came out quite easy but i am having problems getting the bottom seal out on both of the stanshions, and have broken pieces out of the tops of both stanchions,

has  anyone got any ideas how to get these out without further damage,

and also do you know any good repairers please

    thanks

  4. hi thanks for your reply, it is helpful, if I head into ilkley itself, (coming from Leicester, down south) is ilkley bridge easy to find, according to the entrance form, it should be signed from there, but will write down your directions, many thanks and well done on your achievement,
    Mick

  5. do you know what size o rings to replace with ....just in case, because we have to buy either a replacement kit for £25 (that wouldn't fit) or a new cylinder, can't get hold of the o rings, in the UK that is

shouldn't have to work on the cylinder should be 'fit for purpose' and certainly last longer than 6 months

  6. hi, i'm on my third master cylinder and previously replaced the first one with 2 replacement kits, but gas gas don't want to know and I've had to pay for these myself, the bike is only a 2011 so only 2 years old . the second master cylinder lasted just over 6 months at a cost of over £100 each time, my lad has missed trials or had to drop down to easier route because he had no back brake,

I have been told the problem is it has a bur inside the cylinder where the piston goes up and down, then that causes the rubbers to split, so would need to file this out with needle file, then put new replacement kit in IF you can get one that fits, the replacement kit I just bought doesn't fit the second master cylinder so just had to buy brand new master cylinder, and can't get a refund on the replacement kit because I had marked the end bit trying to get it out, if I knew it might not fit I wouldn't have put it in,

also been advised to keep an eye on the brake fluid and replace it regularly to get the dirt out ,could be the dirt causing problems

has to be a design fault, something definitely wrong with so many of us having problems!!!

have a son  with a smile now that I've replaced the cylinder again, bled the system, and now have a back brake ready for sunday lets see how long it lasts, the smile ...and the brake
