Exhaust Baking

Hi I have purchased a 2nd hand exhaust for my TY250D from america, and need some advise on removing carbon/ oil deposits from the in side of the exhaust. I read some where that heating the exhaust on a bbq can burn off these deposits, but I am concerned that the heat might distort the exhausts shape. Is it ok to heat my exhaust on a bbq?

Many Thanks,

Will

I once cleaned one with an oxy-acetylene torch.

Set the insides on fire with a dirty flame (not too much oxy), then switch off the acetylene and just pump oxy in to keep things burning,

Great pest control.

BTW...I have a free-standing vise OUTSIDE my workshop :guinness:

Thats always worked for me Too ... Although mine were done on/in a 55gal burn barrel ...

Yes I use an oxy torch for this too and one time I had to take the oxygen out for a short time. When it went back in the resulting boom was most satisfying
