Firstly, it's still all just rumour and speculation and will remain that way until a statement is made by one or both of the factories. Remember the Spanish do get very excited about "stories". If one Spanish Trials site posted that Toni Bou was actually a transexual alien from the planet Xarg, it would be on all of them within half an hour...

Aside from that, it appears to be a bit of a non-story. It's talk of collaboration, not immediate merger or acquisition. That's no big deal. In the software industry we collaborate and undertake joint engineering ventures with some of our biggest competitors all the time. I'm sure it happens in many industries and if it's beneficial to both parties then why not?

Yep...apparently Gas Gas are going to show Ossa how to build an indestructable gear box and rear wheel hubs :)

Sherco, Ossa and GG all seem to be made from the same bits to me, just with bits stuck in different places (or directions), so they appear to be different. Its why the erm... 'quality' on them all is more or less the same.

Best thing to do is let others buy the bikes for the first year or two ;) .... Well not for everybody to think that or they won't sell any!...We need some 'enthusiasts/certifiable types' to take the plunge.

I'd say it's not just new bikes that have teething problems... you see it in cars etc. The best models are usually the last ones, as all the problems are as ironed out and sorted as they will ever be.

....... Buuuuut you just might clean a few more sections on the 2013 model Ossgasco

having watched recent videos it makes more sense to me that Toni Bou is a transexual alien from the planet Xarg than the other theory which is that he is genetically related in some way to any of us........

I thought 99.9% of the worlds population were oblivious to what a trials bike is, but Spain leading the world in the financial market it makes sense the manufacturers have a whip round and throw in a few parts each.

My guess would be job's f****d and there are more builders of bikes than riders.

I think the statement " the aim is to share resources and create synergies between the two companies" captures what might take place in the future. The factories are 10 min from each other. Why not find efficiencies and cost saving where possible and that's just good business. Both would not give up their independence and trade mark. Lets start with the fact that Ossa needs production space for the Enduro and GG has it. That is one honkin building GG has and I'm sure they want to utilize it to it's capacity. jmo

Spain is in very deep financial trouble despite yeasterdays bond issue which raised 2 odd billion this has simply created more debt.

its unclear where the money is coming from at ossa petromiralies pulled out sharpish, the debt from start up must be horrendous so the need for" production space" may be true, but that is surely based on more finance being available?

As ishy says too many bikes not enough punters, just dont see them all lasting for long.

Gas Gas get access to Fuel Injection technology. They could spend a shed load getting it right themselves but why not use what's already out there.

Gassser have doing fi for a lot longer than Ossa ;)
