We went up on saturday, our discussion on the way home was not too favourable, there seemed alot less overall - esp autojumble. The jumble that was there seemed to be mostly 80's motocross stuff that was junk.

Some nice bikes on the stands, lots of people to catch up with and natter.I did buy a tank/seat unit for one of my Cota's for £20 and also a copy of the story of Honda trials for a very small sum...

We talked about not going next year, but like sheep we probably will.

Very good show. Thanks to Alan Wright for the work.

It really worths taking a plane from Spain to spend here the weekend.

Probably nowhere else in the world you can find the same number of classic dirt bikes, new and used spare parts or classic off road riders all together. FUN !!!!

Definitely Telford 2014 I will be there !!!!!

In some ways I'm with jon v8, I went to the show when it was at Malvern then when it moved to Telford so like alot of you I have seen it grow and improve. I missed going in 2012 and in truth in 2013 nothing much had changed from 2011!

That said for my £12 I saw lots of people I knew, had a natter with them in the warm & dry about old bikes and was able to speak at length with Jean Caillou about his ex.works Hondas which was totally fascinating and what a nice guy!

Given the turnout on Saturday- packed out and no-where left to park, I'd say that Alan Wright identified a real demand and the show is firmly established. All credit to him for building it to what it is now, I'm sure he could change it but why should he?

For me a great weekend because four of us travel down from the Scottish Highlands, by aircraft. It is much more than just a show to us, it's a weekend away with the lads, an event in itself! Great craic, great company and we meet up with literally heaps of old friends and newer ones too. I didn't even see a third of the show because of chatting, doing deals and socialising.

It must be difficult to find new attractions and Wrighty usually comes up with something different year by year. Hard job and I take my hat off to him as he manages to cajoule folk into doing stuff.

I wouldn't miss it, as I said, more of a social gathering. I ordered a bike, bought a load of bits and pieces I need to smuggle back to Jockland and had a great time overall.

If I find out what the dates are for 2014, I'm booking early again!

Count me in Wrighty!

Big John

I went on the Saturday, nearly didn't as I had it in my head it was the 16th! Went down on the bike, so as not to be tempted to buy anything big. Really enjoyed it, lots to see, lots to drool over, some to laugh at, old friends, new friends all in one place. My credit card tried to leap out of my pocket on numerous occasions but I managed to keep a hold on it. Agree that the outside seemed less well subscribed compared to last year, but I only had a cursory wander around there anyhow.

I will definitely be going next year.

Its not Trials but its not everyday a Guzzi V8 is fired up right next to you and ridden through the hall afterwords .....I remember seeing a Protar kit of one a long long time ago and being absolutely fascinated; now I've seen the real thing, and heard it.

It was running for about 4 minutes but I've edited it down to 1:22.

I listened to Jim Curry speaking about some past races; incredible that he could remember in great detail what revs he was pulling and what gear he was in on various corners on various circuits. He talked us around Spa and it was like being there; I felt physically sick at one point as I didn't really want to go "flat" through Eau Rouge, even vicariously.

I had a constructive chat with Alan Whitton; I learned that the posts and cam for the shoes on his Cub backplates can be repositioned with the brakes applied to keep the shoes concentric with the drum as they wear (a bit like a Fantic 300 front backplate).

UPB had a very professionally presented stand for anybody that likes Trick Cubs (I do, but I think I'm not supposed to...)

It was a treat to stand up close to the ex-works Hondas and inspect the details; look at the Tax Disc:

Bought a load of mudguards and bits and pieces from the trade stands and saved a lot of postage otherwise.

I've never seen so much MotoX stuff in one place and never appreciated how BIG (as in long) some MotoX forks are; nearly as tall as I am; the forks on the Bultaco Pursang I raced back in the 70's were virtually the same as those on the Sherpa trials bikes, as I recall anyway, and you could carry that analogy to Greeves Anglians and Greeves Griffons.

A mobile phone with a camera is a great thing to take photos of things that catch your eye for future reference; that nut/bolt looks a bit close to the engine case?

Alan puts on a great show that I always enjoy. I didn't get this year due family probs and am suffering withdrawal symptoms!! If he didn't run it one year there would be an outcry. Its as essential as the Scottish pre 65, and may it long continue. All thanks to Alan, and I look forward to next year!!
