Oset 20 Rear Mudguard... Aargh!

Snapped our 5th rear fender today! My boy's riding skills have really gone up so he is doing pretty amazing things on the bike now but I have had enough of buying new rear fenders!

See this thread(http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/44051-oset-20-mods/), we have even tried modifying it and boiling the plastic to soften it and although it helps a lot it still snaps.

Any ideas?

you tried zip ties in place of the bolts so it breaks them first rather than mudguard?

I haven't but I am not sure quite how that would work. The guard dove tails under and into the bit of plastic in front of it and the two on the side screws directly into the frame. It's not like a bigger bike's way of mounting. Maybe I should try plastic number plate screws, that might work.

Hi

We not fully tested these yet to see if the mudguard or the screw will break first but these are the same size as the original screws but made from nylon so hopefully they might pull out or snap off before the mudguard, oh they are slightly larger in diameter too so you don't need the washers either.
