likebikes Posted January 8, 2014 Report Share Posted January 8, 2014 The Rhode Island Trials club is working closely with the AMA and the FIM in an effort to secure a United States World Round in Exeter, Rhode Island in 2015. We have developed a good working relationship with the FIM over the years and have put on several World Rounds, the last being 14 years ago in 1999. We are really excited this year as we now have, for the first time, a US representative on the FIM CTR committee ---- Martin Belair, a long time friend of Rhode Island Trials Club. The FIM has had a recent change in the organization and the new leaders are being proactive to promote the sport of Trials. Some of their changes and rules have been controversial, but their intent is to try to turn around the decline in Trials Industry. The Rhode Island Trials Club has the same mission - Put on a World Class event and be a spark plug to promote Trials in New England. We are asking our members and the New England Trials riders to support this monumental endeavor by being respectful of the FIM organization and help foster a strong relationship with our fellow Trials enthusiast across the pond. As many of you in New England know, putting on a National Event is quite an undertaking. A World Round is 100 times more work. It requires a dedicated club with members who devote hours in the woods, countless phone calls and emails, promoting the event and corralling the necessary sponsors. Please help and support us in building a positive relationship with the FIM so that we can put on a premier event that we can be proud of. bob_m Posted January 11, 2014 Report Share Posted January 11, 2014 This is going to be a great world round. The RITC leadership and members are top shelf and they will certainly set the bar high.
