Hi,

In the 1948 trial Alan Burnard is seen on the approach to Falls Hill. His Matchless machine is very interesting – with an alloy primary chaincase and polished alloy sliders on the forks, most likely a works 'hand' involved somewhere.

Enjoy.

Hi,

On Mamore in the 1950 Scottish Triumph teamster Bob Manns with his generator motored Trophy, in very ‘heavy’ looking trim compared to the Triumph twins seen in so-called classic trials today! Interesting to note Bob’s riding number, long before the system of smallest capacity machines given the early numbers.

Enjoy.

Hi,

Destined to make his name racing on four wheels, in the Formula One sphere where he won Grands Prix, popular Belgian rider Jackie Ickx rode this works Zundapp 98cc in the 1963 Scottish. Seen here in the bright sunlight on Glenogle.

Enjoy.

Hi,

Shown in the entry list as J S Payne riding a 199 Triumph as a member of the Grove Park Club, we believe this is road racer ‘Ginger’ Payne’s younger brother Steve in the 1962 Scottish?

Enjoy.

Hi,

Achieving every trials riders ambition, Sammy Miller climbs the 'Devil’s Staircase' en route to winning his first Scottish, the 1962 event. On his famous Ariel GOV 132 he dropped a total of only 8 mks all week to head home the winner of the previous two years, Gordon Jackson.

Enjoy.
