darrensn Report post Posted June 29, 2014 Hi, We have a 2010 Beta Evo 80 Big Wheel, which needs the pilot jet cleaning regular as it seems to block quite easily. It is a #38 and i was wanting to know if this is the right size ? The bike can also momentarily cut when on half throttle and it catches the lad out when on a climb, is this connected to the pilot jet size ? Any suggestions are welcome ? Thanks. dadof2 Report post Posted June 29, 2014 38 jet or much smaller should not block Sounds like you have dirt or water in your fuel, thorough clean out of tank, fuel lines and carb needed, perhaps the in tank filter is faulty.
lineaway Report post Posted June 30, 2014 More likely it is the condition of your gas can.
twinshockdude Report post Posted June 30, 2014 38 is the correct pilot jet,we had the same problem with the engine cutting out,it was caused by low float height,we set it to 16mm and the problem went away.basically it was continually running the carb dry !! twinshockdude Report post Posted June 30, 2014 the float height should be 16mm measured from the gasket face to the furthest part of the plastic floats make sure both sides are the same, adjust by bending the central tab - be gentle !!!!
