Hey guys,

my mates cota will not run unless the plug gap is set to about 10 thou. He has changed the points and condenser....then the coil.....then the mag, no change. Any ideas, it runs quite nice for around 15 sections, then fouls the plug(wet)....we kinda stumped what to try next, any suggestion gratefully received.

People suggest moving the condenser away from its hiding place in the depths of the engine. Most Montesas have them located behind the flywheel and it was thought to be ok at the time. Some suggest the heat gets to them. I moved mine to under the tank right alongside the coil and it did appear to make a difference.
