Sy250 Rear Brake Master Cyl

Hi guys,

Just bought myself an old SY250, and giving it a bit of love.

I've determined that the rear brake doesn't work, builds up no pressure at the pedal and no fluid comes out of the bleed valve.

I'm planning on pulling the master cylinder and checking it out - how do I remove this thing?

Do I have to drop the swingarm or something>?

It'll come out if you remove the top shock bolt so you can articulate the swing arm all the way.   If you can, undo the brake hose at the master cylinder.  If you can't, you need to undo the brake caliper at the disc so there is no tension on the brake line.  There is not much extra length in the hose and if you drop the swing arm all the way down without taking the tension off the fear brake line it will pull the line out of the banjo fitting on the master cylinder forcing you to buy a new rear brake hose.  I learned the hard way.
