Villiers drive side crank seal

Hi all

I purchased a whole bunch of new bits for the clutch on my Villiers 37A today. The crank seal on the drive side of the crank looked a bit worn so I got a new Viton one . Is it fairly easy to pry the old seal out of the crankcase end? The old seal looks like it is a standard rubber/nitryl type.  Is there any special precautions I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance
David

Best to lightly oil or grease the seal before fitting same for sprocket before fitting it through seal. If you are using a 17t engine sprocket the seal is thinner than that for the std 20t.

Villiers service tools you will need are the locking comb, peg spanner and hub tool  http://villiersservices.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7_76 these are not too costly and certainly worth buying.
