Hi, chasing a righthand Paioli 38mm fork from a 99 Beta Techno. Original one has been over tightened by previous owner and has a hairline crack.Dont know if this can be repaired by welding, anyone had similar experiences. Thanks John K.

Bought a 315r with Paoli forks, it too had a welded fork at the bottom but was okay and hadn't failed after a fair bit of average abuse.

It might be worth a shot if you get a pro to do the welding and they'd give you a good opinion.

Hmm got bike back, hairline crack means cracked right thru apparently.

Bugger, there is nothing in Aus, and from what ive seen on Fleabay UK and USA not much at all, same damage or worse. Any ideas?

Thanks JK.

I had one welded up some years ago with exactly the same problem ..........you need to grind away the area to a largish 'V' shape then get some one very skilled to weld it starting at the bottom of the 'V' and then work outward filling the gap with beads of weld until it is full.A skilled welder will be able to do this with a very neat finish with no need to grind to finish on the outside although you may need to clean the internal spindle surface depending on how you go about the job.

Main reason for this happening is tightening one side down  tight before the other side has been lightly clamped up and so shearing it off

There are 3 x pairs of PAIOLI 38MM RSD second hand forks that are the same ones that you have fitted that are on UK ebuy right now ranging from £75 to £140 GBP

Yes ive seen the ones on Fleabay the same ones that fit my bike are busted in the same place. Still trying to find a aluminium welder that can and wants to do it. If you see anything send us a link to it oni nou. Cheers mate.
