Motor issue (acceleration)

Hi folks, bit of a random one here. Running an old 16 24v but using a 36v Boost battery and it was working great until the chain broke. The chain jammed and the motor made a clicking noise when then it jammed. Once cleared, the front sprocket looked like it ran perfectly. Stuck on a new chain but once any weight is added to the bike, it accelerates much slower than previously but has the same top speed (once it finally gets there). Any thoughts would be appreciated....the motor is the old 24v 500w motor, could it just be done???

Not an expert on osets but running a 24v motor with a 36v battery will eventually burn it out. But since your problem coincided with the chain getting wrapped around it, it sounds like this has been the cause of some internal damage.

For anyone else who may have had the same problem, I just changed the 13 tooth front sprocket for an 11 tooth front sprocket. With the 36v Boost battery even on my 500w 24v Oset 16 Spider, this setup makes the bike an absolute rocket ship. Highly recommended
