Rear brake issue

Hi all,

I have ridden my 2020 GasGas 280 for about 50 hours and the rear brake became less effective with squeaking noise.

The brake pads seem to have life left.

I would appreciate your thought about it. Should I change the pads? Or brake fluid? Or clean the surface of the pads and disc?

thanks,

Cold water?

Some people advocate dragging the brake to get it really hot, and then throwing cold water over it.

Personally I would take out the pads and rub the friction surfaces on a piece of 180 grit wet'n'dry. Then run the wet'n'dry on the disc. Then clean both with brake cleaner before reassembling.
