Hi there.

I have a 2001 Sherco which is running 38mm forks off a 2003 GASGAS. I am currently servicing them.

Can anyone tell me what weight fork oil they run, capacity per leg, and air volume? You know, all the usual stuff.

I have had no luck so far finding any service information for these units.

Thanks in advance.

I think your best bet is to contact The Hell Team in Sydney, Have a look on their website "thehellteam.com" they list a lot of files for trialsbike owner and parts manuals.

From what I looked at  The oil is 5wt or 7.5wt,  leaving an air gap of 130mm. (fully compressed and without the spring)

Personally I use the heavier oil, but my forks are 40mm on a 2004 gasser.

Hope this helps, Rick.

@anthonysawrey curious if you've found any materials for this fork, I'm looking for the same for my 2003 TXT Pro.

Mainly I'm looking to service them and see if I can figure out why there's no rebound dampening :)

Hi there. I'll keep you updated. It looks like the right side is rebound dampening and the left compression. But I'll get back to you once I've had a good look at mine.

Here is some more info. Disc side has a red clicker on top. opposite side has a black clicker on top.

I found a parts fiche by typing in the part number of the fork legs BT280114019 & BT280114009. You will see on that diagram that the black clicker is compression. I would assume that the red on the disc side is the rebound.
