Red Rose Classic At Top Quarry

red rose classicYAMAHA rider John Hird dropped just nine marks to claim the honours at Red Rose Classic MCC's trial at Top Quarry. Second place went to former world trials champion Yrjo Vesterinen who was just one mark behind on his Bultaco, with John Maxfield (Bantam) third on 13.

 

Clerks of the course Alan and Matt Taylor laid out the course, which comprised four laps and ten sections at the well-known venue near Lothersdale, in West Yorkshire.

 

Colne's Graham Lampkin made a welcome return to competition after his charity ride to Lerwick in the summer, winning his class on his trusty Royal Enfield.

 

There were other class wins for Chris Gascoigne (Ariel), Peter McCawley (James) and David Wilkinson (Honda).

 

Red Rose's next trial is at Auto Transmission, Kebcote, Todmorden, on November 23. nearest postcode is OL14 SB.
