Pegasus MC & LCC - Fantic Trial

Pegasus MC & LCC Annual Fantic Trophy Trial was held in dry and dusty condition at the Stainby Quarry south of Grantham over 5 laps of 9 sections. When the scores were tallied it was Youth A rider who topped the scores on the hard route on a total of 47 marks. Joe's total was a mere 2 marks better that top Expert rider Tom Ablewhite.

On the 50/50 Tony Jones brought his two stroke Montesa home for a total of 20 and this was a single mark better than Mick Thurman also Montesa mounted.

It was quite appropriate at the Fantic Trophy Trial that the middle route was won by the nicely turned out Fantic of Olly Wareing. Olly completed the 45 sections for a tidy score of just 19, with 11 of his total being dropped on section 6. Next best was the Gas Gas mounted garage proprietor from Alford Steve Marwood who was top Over 40 category. Tom Burton was best Novice on 48.

On the white route the leading scores were somewhat lower with best Adult Beginner Toby Mears survived for just 3 single dabs. Runner up was retired electrican Alan Jones who rode well dropping just 6 marks. Mike Sanderson was next best aboard his Triumph Tiger Cub and his total was only 8. Although he was the only Youth Beginner on the day young Alfred Alderman, receiving great encouragement from his father, put in his best performance to date on his little Beta machine. Alfred attacked the sections with great gusto and his total of 74 does not do justice to his efforts, Well done Alfie.
