The traditional presentation of the teams for the 2013 Trial des Nations took place in La Chatre last night ahead of the two days of competition commencing today when the ladies do battle before the men go head to head tomorrow. The competitors, from 23 countries across the globe, were welcomed by the mayor of La Chatre and FIM President Vito Ippolito before being presented to the packed auditorium in their team colours.
Ahead of the presentation, the 2013 FIM Ladies Trial World Championship presentation took place with British girls Emma Bristow and Becky Cook taking second and third places respectively. Championship winner, Laia Sanz was not present to accept her award for her thirteenth successive title due to commitments to ride in the 2013 Maxxis FIM Women’s Enduro World Cup final. Also recognised was young Spanish rider, Berta Abellan, who earned the Rookie Of The Year award and was presented with a bicycle by CTR Director, Thierry Michaud on behalf of award sponsor Univega.
