Important Information About TC Changes

Aside from a cool new look and loads of sexy new features with many more to come, there are some important changes to the way our users connect and interact with Trials Central. Please take the time to read this to see how they affect you...

The biggest and most important change is the bringing together of our disparate systems to offer our users a single sign-on. Now, regardless of where you log in you will be signed in across the entire site so logging in once means you can take advantage of our new article comments feature and post in our highly-popular forums. These changes also affect those who previously had seperate logins to post news or calendar events. They too are now under the single sign-on.

What you have to do is dependent on what you did and what access you had before:

I was registered on the Trials Central Forums or was a Trials Central Supporter, but I did NOT post news or events

This will apply to the majority of people registered on TC. Whilst we've been able to bring your username and registered email address over, passwords are stored encrypted so it wasn't possible to migrate them. You will need to go to the Login Page here and input your registered email address in the "Forgotten Password" box. You will be emailed a link to reset your password. Simply click on the link and you will be able to reset password to whatever you want. This can be the same as your previous password. You only need to do this once. Thereafter, whether you log in from the front page or from the Forums you'll be automatically logged in to both.

Firstly, you should follow the steps above to reset your password. Then, when you're logged in, go to the "Home" (front) page of TC and you'll see your "User Menu" on the left hand side. Click on the "Request Publishing Rights" link, fill out the simple form, submit it and we'll amend your account to give you publishing rights. Note your Forum username will NOT appear in any article or event you publish, allowing you to keep your Club duties and personal forum posts or article comments separate. We will be giving gradual, controlled access to people wanting to post news and events just so we can ensure everything is working properly. Once your account is upgraded you will have access to video tutorials and instructions as to how to post news/events, but it's FAR easier than it was previously.

You will need to register as a user on our new system before we can give you publishing rights. This is a simple process and will only take a couple of minutes. You can complete registration here. We will be giving gradual, controlled access to people wanting to post news and events just so we can ensure everything is working properly. Once your account is upgraded you will have access to video tutorials and instructions as to how to post news/events, but it's FAR easier than it was previously.

Need more help?

We appreciate this is a little bit of effort, but it does only have to be done once and should only take a couple of minutes. To handle any problems individual users have during the transition period we've temporarily installed a helpdesk ticketing system. If things aren't working or you're not sure what to do then open a ticket with us by clicking here and we'll do our best to help. We expect the most common problem to be people not receiving the password reset email either because their registered email address is out of date or it's been mis-classified as spam. Please check Junk/Spam email folders before contacting us. NOTE: In order to manage things we will NOT deal with requests for help via Forum Personal Message or direct email. If you need help, place a ticket request.
