Finally, after two long years of trying, testing, tears, tantrums, swearing and many, many hours of work we are delighted to launch the all-new Trials Central!
With now in excess of 45,000 unique visitors a month (source: Google Analytics), a revamp of our systems, some of which have been in place since 2003 was long overdue. This launch represents the biggest change to the premier English speaking Trials website on the planet that has ever been undertaken. Many of our old, out-dated components have been totally replaced giving us the ability to offer many new features - some of which are available now and some which are still in development and will be added in the months to come.
Our new systems allow us to present news articles more professionally, make it easier for our contributors to add events and news stories, allow our registered users to post comments on our news articles and our totally new events calendar allows for locations to be set up by Clubs with Google Map representations of venues and links to obtaining directions, making it far easier for both competitors and spectators to find your events! There is much more to come!
It's also now far easier to find older news in our archives with everything indexed and accessible via the menus at the top of the pages. New, advanced "smart search" functionality further extends those capabilities.
Behind the scenes we've also brought together the various parts of the site that all previously required separate registration and login giving a true single sign-on for the highly popular TC forums, the front-end news system and comments, Trials Central Supporters content and the events calendar.
There is still much to do. Users will note historic articles with file attachments have those attachments missing. They'll be added over time (getting 9 years worth of news articles from one system to another was a big enough job - attachments come second!)
The new Trials Central represents a considerable four-figure sum in terms of investment. That simply would not have been possible without the income from both our Site Sponsors and our Site Supporters. Many, many thanks to all of you who support TC financially - it doesn't matter how much or how little, all of you have contributed to this relaunch and we're truly grateful.
All users should read the Important Information article which details some important changes and what you need to do in order to continue enjoying the Trials Central experience.
