Colin Appleyard British Championship Trial
Round Six Skyraikes Skipton.
Sunday 8th October, Repsol Beta rider Jack Challoner rode the final round of the Colin Appleyard sponsored British Trials Championship at Skyraikes Farm near Skipton.
As it was a local event for him, and we were hoping for a good showing at the rocky exposed and typically Yorkshire venue, but unfortunately it was not to be, 'I have just had one of those days! It was 0, 1 or 5 today, nothing seemed to go my way’.
Jack went on 'I also struggled with severe cramp in my arms, which made things go from bad to worse, I have never suffered with this before, so it was a bit of a shock.’
At the end of the Trial Jack finished in 4th place behind 'Bert’ Andrews.
Jack & Bert should have got together afterwards to discuss the finer points of how to 5 as many sections as possible after cleaning the hard bits!!! The pair of them had similar days it would seem?
Jack also had to ask for fives on the last 4 sections as he was well behind on time, still having to take 7 time penalties at the end.
On reflection afterwards Jack said 'the trial was really good, and the difficulty very hard, after seeing the final results, with only Alexz and Ross under 100 in the Youths, it proves how hard the event was, so I can only take away from this event some more experience & move on to the next event. I now know what to expect from British Championship Trials & can look forward to next years series, I would also like to thank the Bradford Club for staging a really good trial’.
Final results
Alezx Wigg 73
Ross Danby 92
Robert Andrews 113
Jack Challoner 124
Jacks next event is the last round of the A & B Youth British Championships next weekend on the Isle of Wight next Saturday, with the season Finale Youth Indoor in the evening, see ya there hopefully.
