The Nike 6.0 Tunnel, usually home to the worlds best BMX riders, but not today Jack Challoner took over the top-secret Nike 6.0 tunnel to create a film which has been described as "A fresh new look at Motorcycle Trials". The two minute film features Jack Challoner as he rides the lines of BMX legends in one of the worlds most famous skate-parks.
The location of this once derelict tunnel is kept completely secret, with only a lucky few local riders being able to ride the park on a daily basis. And it was Nike who really put this unique venue on the map, holding the world class Nike 6.0 Tunnel Jam here in 2009.
With the whole film shot over two intense days in April and a careful edit taking place while the 2010 Junior World Champion competed in the centenary of the Scottish Six Day Trial, Challoner commented on the film soon after his return from the highlands, "As you can imagine, I am well chuffed with the film. The location is absolutely awesome, and it was well fun to make
Riding in a venue like that is such a contrast to any competitions, but once I got into the groove it all came really easily and started to flow. The best bit of the shoot has got to be the cradle over the Relentless Land Rover, it took a run up or two at first, but once Id done it once I just wanted to do it over and over again".
It was the Junior World Champion himself who wanted to put the film together, and managed to do so with the help of close friend Ben Lampkin; "Jack first approached me with the idea well over a year ago, we wanted to create something that would promote the sport as much as it would Jack, and I think that's what we've managed to do, It's a fresh new look at Motorcycle Trials for anybody out there who isn't a big fan of the sport"
Challoner, who is supported by Relentless Energy concluded; "Creating this film has being awesome, and it's really great to have the support of such a passionate team at Relentless - they really have helped me pull this video together. We shot this video in April as it fell between the X-Trial and FIM Outdoor World Championships. It's has being a nice break, but now I am more than ever ready to the start of the Outdoor Championships which start in Germany this weekend, where I hope I can carry the same form I showed in the X-Trial series"
