Rough Holden farm has been a regular practice ground for many Yorkshire centre riders over the years, but unfortunatley we are in grave danger of losing it under the 14 day rule due to some narrow minded people within the surrounding area, and officals within Bradford Council who seem hell bent on making sure that there is nowhere for any law abiding riders to go and practice. not only have they shut down flappits completely and Addingham moorside under the 14 day rule, but now are trying to close Rough Holden
This is the same piece of land that Dougie Lampkin MBE, TWELVE TIMES WORLD CHAMPION cut his teeth on!
Ian Boothman, the land owner, has allowed responsible people to turn up to practice whenever they choose for years. As a former trials rider himself, he is happy to put something back into the sport, and provides an irreplaceable resource for young and old alike to ride their machines away from the streets and public areas where they would be causing danger and nuisance.
We are going to lose this valuable practice land to the beaurocrats and the neighbouring land owners a mile distant who have complained.
Not only should we not be losing this resource, we should be erecting a blue plaque in Dougie Lampkins honour. Declare it a SSSI (sight of special sporting interest!).
Please, if you have EVER ridden here in the past, show your support for Ian who is fighting this decision.
