Poachers Pre 65 Biscathorpe

poachers pre 65Poachers Pre 65 Trials Results Biscathorpe 28th July

50 riders entered the 6thround championship trial at Biscathorpe on Sunday after a couple of weeks ofhot dry conditions, rain onFriday and Saturday did little to alter the sections which had been marked out on Thursday before the trial, the entry was evenly spread over expert and intermediate with a larger number onthe clubman's route.  Expert class was won by Mat Mison on his Pre Unit Matchless losing just 3 marks, runner up was Mick Ash who finished on 8 marks, 5 of these on section 3 on the first lap when the 'James' stalled at the top of a climb.

The intermediate route had three riders claiming the victory, two riding Rigid BSA's, Mick James brought the big Pre Unit home for 12 marks lost, Mick Dawson on the Bantam mirrored the score and Keith Hewson rode his 250 Springer James very well to share the honours.

Clubman riders kept the pressure on to finish the 40 sections in single figures and it was the 2-stroke contingent that had the first five places in single digits, hats off to 'Graham Cannon and Mick Clarkson, both on single dabs. David Hird won the Pre Unit Clubman's on the Enfield losing 10 marks and Gary Liens had a good result on the C15 winning the Unit Class.

Busiest observer of the day must have been Brian Mison on section 6, a drop down to the lakeside with a run along the waters edge and an exit back up a cambered climb, only 4 riders kept a clean sheet on Brian's section.

Thanks to all our observers for manning the sections, it was sad to see that the return leg from Midland Classic Club was so poorly supported, they missed an excellent days riding.
