Starting with the superb Manchester Red Bull event last Saturday 21st which was a great event for all the public to see. As ever GG Factory rider Dougie Lampkin tried his best against the young pups and did not disappoint and still managed a podium place at the end of a hectic day.
GG Factory No.1 Rider Adam Raga was 5th and loved entertaining the Manchester crowd. Newly crowned British Trials Champion Michael Brown was 6th. I advised Michael to go steady because of the Scott Trial only one month away. Because this event was more of a dual race format I didnt want him to do anything daft. GG Road and Trials superstar Jack Price won the battle of the ‘boys’ in the Youth Class.
On the same day up in Richmond North Yorks was the penultimate round of the women’s BTC and GG girl Nikita Smith had her best BTC result to date finishing second thrashing Becky Cook so big congrats to her. Nikitas GG girl team mate Katy Sunter was 4th.
Also worth a mention was Bronwyn Palmer who won the Youth A Class on her GG.
The Richmond club then organised a Centre Champ Round the next day and JSTGGUK Rider Dan Thorpe finished 4th.
The weekend just gone was packed with events with the final Womens BTC and the penultimate Youth A+B round up in Scotland at the Bob MacGregor Trials Acadamy and Stevenson District MCC.
The GG girls Nikita Smith and Katy Sunter were both on the podium behind the Champ Emma Bristow. Nikita was a great second again and Katy 3rd. It’s a shame Nikita is not eligible for points this year as she is riding a year above in Class.
For the A+B BTC it was GG Road and Trials rider Jack Price that had a stunning ride losing only 10 marks top take an easy win in the A Class.
Sam Yeomans waved the Kelcoat/JSTGGUK flag in the B Class and had a solid 5th place.
There was also the last S3 Championship Round organised by the Newcastle and District MC.
Dan Thorpe was second overall behind his biggest sparring partner this year Richard Sadler.
After a few busy weekends there’s a weekends breather before the Lakes and the Scott.
