Bradford club ran a closed to club trial up at the superb Yarnbury venue which is normally used for the Timperley cup, after 2 years of no trials at the venue due to severe weather conditions in February, the club decided to run a round of the clubs championship so that riders who normally would not ride at this venue have a chance to experience what a great venue this is
48 riders turned out for the 10 section 4 lap route with some positions in the clubs championship still to be decided, so we had a large queue at the first section as it appeared that nobody wanted to go first.
Danny Ralphs had a absolute blinder with a clean ride on the clubman route closesly followed by James Moorhouse on the ageing Bultaco on 1 mark which he dropped on section 5 which has started off a rather gentle section but eventually a ather large muddy hole appeared near the exit cards., Jonathon Baker followed on 5 marks lost with the majority lost on section 5 again
Jason Dunning did enough to secure the championship with a steady but nervous ride dropping 10 marks and winnning the 0/40 class with it as well, unfortunatley his main rival for the 0/40s honours Cliff Camfield retired on the first lap with a broken back Brake.
On the 50/50 route again iit was a closely thought trial with Stuart Wood winning on 6 marks with Phil Scott 2nd on 9, and Darren Holmes in 3rd on 10, the highlight of the trial had to be fellow 50/50 rider Howard Dixon going for a big jump across the muddy hole at section 5 and promptly nose diving straight over the bars , which saw him sat in a mud bath up to his chest, Phil Disney was doubled over with laughter at his felow riders misfortune, but his pristinely clean montesa riding gear was soon covered in the brown stuff as Howard let him share some of the mud
On the Hard course Ross Crosby took the win on 1 mark lost with a very slack dab on section 7 on his first visit, followed by Phil Disney who had a good ride on 6 marks closely folowed by Thomas Rushton on 10
