A good entry of 102 riders at Breakheart Quarry was bolstered by a dozen experts who would otherwise have been at the cancelled Wallace Trial.
Shaun Fox repeated last year's win beating youth B rider Toby Martyn into second spot, with Tom Minta close behind.
Section 6, a difficult climb over roots took marks from all except Stroud Clubman Kurt Brain with Toby Martyn posting the only other clean on his second visit.
On section 7, a steep cambered climb followed by a tricky log step, observer Georgina Isaac, didn't record any expert cleans with Shaun Fox's single dabs the best of the day.
Section 8 was similarly challenging, the steep drop and turn registering only 4 clean rides.
Dane Palmer was the clear winner of the Clubman Expert class losing an impressive 4 marks. Jake Hoare and Nathan Pekala tied on 21 marks lost in second place, with best lady Victoria Payne in 4th.
Dean Hassal and Tim Wheeler led the clubman field both losing 4, closely followed by Andy Ridley and Richard Elliott. In a well supported sportsman class Dai Clothier and Andy Jenkins kept their feet up all day, and Ken O'Brien beat his fellow pre-65'ers on 7 marks lost.
