Pegasus MC & LCC New Year Trial

Pegasus MC & LCC visited Stainby Nr Grantham for their opening event of the 2106 season. Rain started to fall just as the trial commenced at what was already a very wet quarry. Conditions didn't improve throughout the day and special mention must be made for the observers for standing out in these conditions.

The Club's course plotters had taken heed of the forecasts and the sections were just about spot on. After the scorecards had been totalled Chris Alford was declared the winner with a perfect clean score. Runner up Tom Ablewhite dropped just two single dabs to spoil his card.

Conditions were ideally suited to the Alford family as it was Chris's younger sister Louise who topped the 50/50 route with an equally impressive total of 4 marks.

On the middle route Shane Harvey pipped Fantic mounted Olly Wareing by a single mark, 7 to 8, to top the route, best Novice was Luke Hough-Whelpton on 9 and Pete Ablewhite was best Over 40 on 13.

Pre 65 machines dominated the white route where John Hamblin, James, rode the 5 laps of 8 sections for just 5 marks. This was 6 better than Mick James on his BSA with Kev Witting, Drayton Bantam, and Andrew Frith, James, completing the top four places. Graham Bishop was best Adult Beginner. Well done to our Youth Beginners Alfie_Ray Turner and Alfred Alderman for battling hard through to complete the event.
