71 riders turned out on New Year’s Eve for what was Shropshire TC last trial of 2015, the trial was set easier than normal as we wanted everyone home safe and sound for the evening’s festivities. It was Sam Yeomans (Gas Gas UK), Billy Craig (Inspire Honda) and Danny Butler (Beta) who never put a foot wrong or a wheel out of place all day to go clean on the expert route. So congratulations to them all, they were closely followed by the on form Ben Rolls, Chris Tett and Daz Williams on 1 and 2 marks.
The clubman route was also cleaned all day by young Alice Minta on her shiny new Beta 125, I’m sure if we check back in a few year’s time Alice’s name will be regular in the TMX so keep up the great work Alice! Darren Casper Jones made a return in close second place losing only 1 mark and tied on 3 marks was Harry Hall and Charlie Bawden with Harry proving that age was on his side this time.
The non exp route was won by John Reeves on 2 marks with Gordon Wilson snapping at his heels on 3 with Clive Parry finishing third.
The beginners route where we all started one day, ended with a tie for the win with big Dave Hodson showing us his skills and I’m sure will be moving up a class in the near future and the ever youthful Mike Kelly matching Dave on his very nice Fantic Twinshock.
Thanks as always to the observers on the day and Andy Onions and his family for the use of his land. Thanks also to the setting out team of Danny, Vince and Gaz along with Chris and Becky for the hog roast. A final thanks goes to H for staying behind to drag the final 4 vans off the field as what could only be described as a bloody great storm hit as we were packing away and yes I got absolutely soaked!
