Poachers Pre 65 Trials Wrights Farm Trial

poachers pre 65Thank you to the 44 riders that made the journey as far east in Lincolnshire as you can get to contend the final championship round for 2019.

The decision to cut the 5 lap norm to 4 was made early into the trial and I think that most riders were happy to see the end of a fairly wet day, I am certain the observers were grateful! The club would like to thank them all for their commitment throughout the year, we could not enjoy our sport without them.

The expert route was won by Mark Francis, returning a perfect 0 marks lost scorecard over the 32 sections. Mick Ash was in second place, losing his 2 marks on section 5 and joint third places were taken up by Mat Mison and Mark Spencer who both finished on a very commendable 3 marks lost.

On the intermediate route only 2 riders finished on single figures, Nick Neave took the laurels losing 6 marks and it was good to see Andrew Clibbery back on form to win the two-stroke class giving away 8 marks. Colwyn Darlow won the pre-unit intermediate class on his Norton losing 10 marks.

Clubman riders saw only one single figure scorecard, Alan Marin-Andrew lost his 4 marks on sections 1 and 5 to win his class and with the ever-changing weather conditions, it looked like sections 5 and 6 were perhaps the most difficult on the day for clubman riders.

We will now update the club championship positions and see if any of those neck-to-neck results have changed. Our next trial is planned for after Christmas, so I would just like to say thank you to all our club members, riders and observers for your support of this year’s events and on behalf of all involved in the running of Poachers Pre 65 Trials may we wish you a very Happy Christmas. We look forward to seeing you all on the 27th December at Smiths Farm for our annual charity trial. With charity in mind a massive thank you to Tony Wright of Wright’s Farm who donated the land rental payment to the Children’s Hospice. MG
