lee shankie bob macgregorNestling in the countryside of East Ayrshire some sixteen miles south of Glasgow, the Bob MacGregor Trials Academy is Scotland’s hidden Trials gem. Named after the only Scotsman ever to win the prestigious Scottish Six Days Trial, the Bob MacGregor Trials Academy is very much an on-going work in progress with the disused quarry that forms the core of the Academy offering everything the Trials rider could possibly want – from those interested in beginning the sport right up to those riding at British, or even World Championship level. In these days where practice venues are becoming harder and harder to find, to have this facility, fully endorsed by the local authorities is a fantastic boost for the sport. Add in toilets, café and changing facilities and the Bob MacGregor Trials Academy really is Trials heaven and certainly the only venue of its kind in Scotland.

In order to help publicise the great facilities and opportunities on offer at the Trials Academy, we are delighted to announce the launch of the official Bob MacGregor Trials Academy website – built, funded and hosted by Trials Central as our small way of supporting this very worthwhile venture.

The website contains all you need to know about the Trials Academy from how to get there, what’s available at the venue and details of upcoming training classes and events. Training classes are held every Saturday with currently between 40 and 50 riders at each of these very popular sessions. The website also contains photos and video from events and training days so you can see for yourself what this great venue has to offer. The website will be updated regularly with what’s coming up, including details of a first for the Academy when it hosts a round of the British A&B and British C&D Youth Championships and a round of the British Ladies Championship in September 2013.
