AJP Continue Trail Bike Sponsorship

ajp logoThe ACU today confirmed that AJP Motos have elected to continue with their sponsorship of the Trail Bike Championships for 2014. The Long Distance Trials format will run over six rounds attracting up to 150 riders for each.

Once again re-named the "ACU/AJP Ultrapassar Trail Bike Championships" after last years’ win on the bike of the same name (the AJP Ultrapassar, an LDT special ridden by Chris Koch), AJP have also been instrumental in drawing in new sponsorship support from a number of sources.

Fuchs Silkolene will provide oils and cleaners for the first three places in both the Championship and Non Championship results for each round. Vee Rubber are pleased to supply tyres to the same positions and MSM Insurance have agreed a deal for all competitors, to extend their existing ACU cover.

This is in addition to AJP offering significant "money off" vouchers for the winners and huge savings for runners up, as well as various incentives for those entering the competition on AJP's in the coming year. (Not a difficult choice, considering an AJP won the Championship in 2013!)

Bikes eligible for the class are essentially road registered "trail" bikes, with lights, trails tyres and dual seats, levelling the playing field and excluding specialised trials tackle. (For full eligibility specs see www.acu.org.uk)

AJP Brand Manager Craig Whitney had this to say "After a learning year in 2013, we're throwing our full weight into the Championships in 2014. With attractive and worthwhile prizes for 1st to 3rd in BOTH categories for every round, plus the chance to effectively get an AJP for less than half price with your money off vouchers by the end of the year! We hope it will attract even more competitors to this fun and worthwhile pastime"

He added "we look forward to working with organising clubs in the coming year, to make every round a success and get the series the publicity it so richly deserves"
