Following a very successful time on our stand at the Telford Classic Offroad Show on the weekend of 22 and 23 February 2014, we would like to thank everyone who came along to see us and enjoy the stunning display of winning bikes from the past 30 years as well as the many other interesting items and information displayed about the Pre’65 Scottish Trial. We would also like to thank the owners of the displayed bikes for making them available.
We were particularly encouraged by the support and positive attitude that most people gave us regarding machine eligibility. Contrary to a small number of emails that we receive which try to tell us how to run our event and where we are going wrong, we were overwhelmed by the support and encouragement we got that tells us a completely different story. Although we will never be able to please everyone, we firmly believe that we are on the right track to keep the ethos of the Pre’65 Scottish alive and we aim to do this by educating and working with potential entrants and bike builders. By working together we can achieve rules and guidelines that are workable and acceptable.
The raffle for a free entry into the 2014 Pre’65 Scottish Trial was a resounding success and the proceeds from it will be donated to projects within Kinlochleven, which is the home of the Pre’65 Scottish Trial. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and commiserations to those of you who were unsuccessful. The winning tickets were drawn at the show by Mary Driver and they are as follows:-
1st Ticket 283 Free entry to 2014 Pre’65 Scottish Trial
Chris Samuel for her very lucky husband Mark Samuel, Wrexham
2nd Ticket 342 Pre’65 Scottish Trial Shell Jacket
Bill McKeown , Gosforth, Newcastle
3rd Ticket 3 Pre’65 Scottish Trial Hoody
Stewart Tate, Scawthorpe, Doncaster
The committee is very much looking forward to taking this event forward and celebrating the 30th anniversary on 2 and 3 May 2014. We hope the weather is kinder to us than it was in 2013 and we are looking forward to meeting with friends, both old and new.
