Round four of the British Ladies Championship was held last weekend run by the South Shropshire MCC. This was the first ladies round the club had held but they did a brilliant job setting out twelve testing sections on the banks, streams, roots and logs they had to offer.
Becky Cook on her MRS BVM Sherco set the pace on the first lap recording a score of seven with Emma Bristow just one mark behind. Knowing it was close at the front Becky was focused on staying ahead and put in an awesome second lap of just four and her nearest challenger, Emma lost a further ten.
Pushing for time, Becky had just thirty five minutes to complete the last lap and with the section conditions worsening she pressed on, with minder, Craig Talbot never far behind running as fast as he could She recorded a steady lap of six with Emma loosing fourteen and both incurring two time penalties. The final scores saw Becky on nineteen winning by a good margin to Emma Bristow on thirty four and well done to Hannah Styles on her first podium finishing on ninety one.
There’s no rest for the ladies as they head to Bracken Rocks on Sunday for round five of the championship.
