Hi, I'm new to trials and I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm looking for good spots to ride the bike. Can anyone recommend areas in west midlands/ shropshire etc to go where I won't be stopped by rangers etc and told to p*** off? Doesn't have to be full of features as getting to grips with the bike- just want to get out on it propery! Many thanks for any help. Mil

I'm looking for any advice on flushing out the crank case? My buddy toasted his GasGas's top end, we pulled the jug off and then had taken time off from the repair. Well some atifreeze went in the crank case and actually did weird things with the synthetic motor oil, actually froze up! You could see that every thing turned white and hardend, I've poured 2 stroke oil in there and let it soak, then put a socket/breaker bar on the fly wheel nut and loosened it up. Crank spins fine, but I'm wondering what would be a good solution to soak/flush the case? Does Napa have something for this? Do you think we must split the case and do the (bottom end bearing), or just let it s…

Not that the Scott is ever easy but I just wondered what other riders thoughts are. On the late 70s / early 80s Bultos you had a nice seat to sit on and have a rest on the faster bits or the course and even when legging you could get a decent stride / push whilst seated The monshock TY yams were a bit lower but still had a usable seat. Although the modern bikes are lighter they are much harder to sit down on and get a rest, and nearly impossible to leg when in the seated position, I am 6 ft tall which is nothing exceptional but on both Beta and Gasgas I find it nearly impossible to ride or leg seated, find my legs uncomfortably bent and even catch my knees on the footr…

Have had a sabbatical of some 8 years and decided to get a bike. Managed to get an nearly new evo and have had to get a whole load of new gear. So look a bit “all the gear and no idea”. Looking forward to getting back out having joined at the Earl Shilton club!

A freind of mine has an old 96 gasser and is wanting to change the tyre on the back wheel. At the moment he has a 'tubeless' tyre with a tube in it and the wheel also has a gripper. Hes got a new tyre he wants to put on which is a 'tube type' tyre and is wondering if it will bead ok? If it has a gripper and a tube in the tyre will it matter if its tubless or tubed?

We will shortly be making some changes to the News System on Trials Central and the way we handle news. Because of this we have stopped taking new registrations for Clubs/Organisations to post their own news on TC. Any Club/Organisation wishing News/Results posted should, for now, email content to news@trialscentral.com and we will post on your behalf. This includes attachments of results files/photos etc. Those clubs/Organisations currently registered to post news themselves can either continue to do so or can submit via email to the same address. NOTE: The event calendar is NOT currently affected by this. Clubs should continue to post events as normal. However, as t…

I normally have used Ipone, Elf, or BelRay at 85:1 in my bikes (Beta's). I've noticed Mobile 2 stroke is available at the local parts place at a much cheaper price. Has anyone tried this in their trials bike and if so how did you like it? I have never noticed any real difference between other brands so I really wonder about one verus the other. In fact I often wonder if one does not bottle for another. Any thoughts?

Hi guys, I recently aquired a 2002 Beta Rev from a friend in Arizona and I am currently trying to get it registered in California. All steps have been going smoothly with the DMV until they said I need a engine number. After going to the DMV inspections they could not find the number so they are telling me I need to go to California Highway Patrol (CHP) for their inspection process. While making the appointment with the CHP the officer told me if there is indeed no engine number than the bike is more than likely illegal to be registered in California. Anybody have this problem in the past? Does anybody know if the 2002 Betas have engine numbers and where they would be? I…

Thank you all for the help. I enterend my first trial on 8/9/15 (last Sunday) and had a blast. It was mostly a climb fest, in and out of a gully with a creek and loose shale at the bottom. I tried (and failed) at some of the easier sections, and skipped others. The drop in to access the creek that the sections were based out of was intimidating. I shut the bike down and watched rider after rider dissapear over the edge. A young and inexperienced rider stopped next to me. He said " Wow! That looks scary! I'm new to this too." I agreed and tried to calm my nerves. He then started his bike, said "well here goes nothing", sat down on his bike and walked it over the edge. Th…

Hi all, I'm patinting my front AJP caliper and the bolt.holding the caliper wouldn't come out. I ended up using a blow torch to heat the bolt so the damn thing would come out. In doing so I've blown one of the piston seals. Does anyone know where I can buy an AJP 4 pot piston seal without having to buy a full repair kit? I've been googling 25mm piston seal and I'm not too confident it will be the right seal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fully understand that I shouldn't take blow tourches to things lol, my impact driver is in the post.

I think the editors of a famous Spanish trials website, covering the recent FIM Jamboree in Jerez, need a couple of essential lessons in English grammar!

Just rode hillsbro' last Sunday , Great Trial. Looking at championship only 4 or 5 on average in each class really doing the whole series. I think it would be better to have four more central rounds i.e. Bemrose or Dave Rowland near Buxton and what about D K Mansell south of Birmingham. Fourteen rounds with best ten to count. Surely that would encourage riders to do more rounds. What do you Classic guys think?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows why the left hand fork appears to come higher out of the top of the yokes than the right? And if not, should they be level?
