Hi to all. just found the site as very new to Trials, based in Warwickshire. Have ridden a road bike for ever and raced hydrocat powerboats ,accidently took up green laning a couple of years back, after a mate persuaded me to take a trail bike to the IOM instead of road bikes, had much more fun and after spending a week on the mountains were hooked, so have taken the plunge and bought a Beta Techno to learn on, need some practice before having a crack at first trial soon, at 45 must be bloody barking but seems a good way to get the fix. Just want to say that after dabbling with many motorsports the trials scene is very helpful and loads of people prepared to put themse…

Apologies for getting carried away in desperation and posting my Aprilia woes before introducing myself. Learnt to ride on a TY80 20 years ago and wanted another trials ever since so off I go to buy an Aprilia TXR311 for what seemed a good price. Guess what? it has already proved to be the most frustrating bike I have ever owned and I have had a few. Very pleased to find this site and forum and just hope people more knowledgeable than me are willing to help! Cheers,

Hey everybody. Messed up and responded to a tech issue before I introduced myself. New to trials, been riding motos since I was a pup. Been lurking here for a couple of months and have now caught the bug. Got a used Gasser to learn on and am loving this stuff. We have a local meet here this weekend (Sacto PITS) and I'm hoping to get a little time away from the house and try it out. Thanks for the great forum!

I've been reading TC for many years now, but haven't registered. Which new bike will I buy? Well, I'm thinking about buying a Gas Gas...but maybe a Beta would be good....then again I've heard good things about the Montesa....but I'm also looking at Scorpa...but you know, I should check into the Sherco as well. What I like the most on this forum is the international trials coverage (FIM). But when I get a new bike, I think I'll use this FORUM even more than I use the international trials coverage (FIM) parts of the web site! Keep yer feet up.

Hi Everyone Where do I start new to trials so many questions. What bike? I like the Gas Gas 280 but I have been told a Scorpa 250 would be better suited to a novice (novice at trials yes but done moto x from age 10 until i was 17 taking the top off my hip on a table top ouch) will this help at all? Club? Mendipvale looks the best for me local and the riders like a beer or two so im told. (I live in Nailsea nr Bristol) Kit? I wont look good in tight stuff, so how about moto x bottoms? Any other hints and tips welcome. Cheers Shrub

After 20 years without a bike (apart from my original from new 67 honda monkey) I am now the owner of a used 2005 Cota 4RT. Past history was an Ossa, Honda TLR 200, Bultaco 248 Sherpa T. Anyone else around West Somerset? Turns out my nearest dealer is BVM Stroud, who are wonderful but nearly 2 hours away! I will continue to use them for all major things. Any specialist shops any closer, eg for new Trials Tyres etc?

Hi everyone, I've been riding motorcycles most my life dating back as far as the '73 DT 360 Yamaha. Until about 3 years ago, all I rode was my XR600R for grins and the annual trek to Rampart Range in Colorado's Pike National. I'm converting the XR over to a street legal dual sport but have been rather distracted by my new habit - trials riding! I am a member of the Ark Valley Trials Association and have ridden the Novice class when I could the past 3 years. I bought a '99 Gas Gas TXT 321 from my wife's uncle when he upgraded to a 300 Pro and never looked back. This past weekend, I drove to McKinney, Texas and bought a very low hours (5 rides total) 2000 Beta Rev 3…

Hello All. First of all thank you to everyone who posts here. I have found it to be a great source of information. I recently purchased a 2004 Sherco 290. I have ridden several dirtbike over the past 10 years and I think trials is going to be right up my alley. I have some acreage to ride on that is pretty challenging on my motocross bike so I should be able to spend countless hours riding the trials in my own back yard. Challenges include (a pretty steep hill climb from the creek, banks berms, fallen trees, pond banks, creek bed, rocks, mud, grass, little bit of everything). The only thing I lack is large rocks. Which is ok I probably won't be ready for that kind…

Hello world ! As I'm registering on this web, I see there is a "introduce yourself", so here we go. I'm 34 years old male living in Iceland. Some of my friends have started riding Trial bikes, most of them riding Gas Gas Txt 250-300 bikes, and now I have bought myself a new Gas Gas Txt 300 bike. I have only ridden it for about 50 meters so far, so everything about trial bikes is really new to me. I look forward to start riding, and will probably post some pictures on this web etc. as time goes by. Chao //Hannes

I found the site a few days ago and have been enjoying reading through the posts. I rode my first trials in the early 1970s on my Suzuki TS185R (which also served for my first MX) and I bought a new 325 Sherpa T (M125? The new style frame) in 1974. I rode with the NMTA (New Mexico Trials Association) there in Albuquerque for couple of years and was a decent intermediate-level rider. After graduating from Uni and moving off I roadraced for quite a while. About 1999 I picked up a Kawasaki KT250 and started riding AHRMA/Sacramento PITS vintage trials. I can occasionally trophy in the Novice (3 line) class and struggle to paddle my way through on a 2 line. I am far from…
