Hi Guys I used to do a lot of trials when I was a kid before I switched to MX and did the British Champs for years , anyways decades later I find myself living in San Diego , just turned 40 and with a hankering to get back on a trials bike. Bearing in mind the last time I rode a trials bike was 1984 !! I'd appreciate some advice on what a good bike to get would be. I like the look of the Montesa 4RT ( thats what I used to ride - Montesas ) but getting them here seems a bit of a problem. The Scorpa uses a modified YZF250 motor - is it really a good engine for trials ? 2 or 4 stroke ? Any and all help / advice you guys can give would be great. Cheers !!

I've ben playing around on a 1987 TLR200 Reflex (USA model) for a few years and am now looking for restoration parts. I am having troubles finding the vintage plastic fenders, headlight visor, and side panels. I'd also like to learn the tricks to help bring this little 4-stroke trials bike up to par.

I have an appointment next week to pick up a '00 Beta REV 3 I'm really excited, hope to get to know a bunch of you fine folks here on the board.

I don't think it is possible to completely give up trials. Last event I rode was a stadium type trials in 92. I scored a kt250 last December(free! thank god cuz they get kinda expensive to revive) anyways going back to old school(twinshock) to start my attack run, and see if I can afford to ride a modern bike by next season(have you seen the price for a new Montesa ouch!) dgraf

A streetbike accident and the resulting new career had removed me from motorcycles for a few years, but I am now back in the fold so-to-speak, although in a slightly different role. I had been a motorcycle mechanic for most of my adult life, and had a Ducati, Husqvarna, and Gas-Gas dealership in Colorado for a while. The aforementioned streetbike accident left me paralyzed from the chest down, and although I can no longer ride trials, this is truly where my heart is. I am a new Sherco dealer and also build / repair motorcycle spoked wheels, primarily for vintage motocross, trials, roadracing, and Supermoto applications. My son is going to compete in as many trials t…
