Hi thought i would introduce myself on this great forum . Ive recently returned back to trials after a 7 year break ,picked myself an immaculate 2007 beta rev3 up for a fair price of £1000 pound up a few weeks ago . I rode from the age of 12 till i was 17 but im just starting to pick it back up the bike runs really nice ,Im riding at scarborough and district motor club glad ive got back into the sport just thought i would introduce myself

Greetings all, I've been lurking and realized I hadn't said hello so here goes. I'm John French and live in NC USA, I've been riding trials since about 1990 (I'm 61) and currently have about 5 or 6 (or 7) trials bikes. My modern bike is a 2016 Montesa 4RT 260 and in order of next oldest they are 1985 RTl250 Honda, 1980 199A Bultaco, 1977 Ty250D Yam, 1975 Tl125 Honda, 1966 Triumph Cub and a '61 G3C Matchless. G3C is too nice to ride in dirt so I had to buy another that I can crash in a section and not cry too much. It's still very much a project so it will be a while before that one sees a trial. Hi all, just a quick hello, my name is Adam and i come from Burnley lancs, i dont have a bike at the min but i am on the look out for one. i used to have a 98 315 but only for a few weeks, so you could class me as a complete novice. I have quite a bit of experience on road bikes but not trials. I am looking for a bit of advice on which bikes are good/bad and wether to go 2 stroke or 4 stroke. A friend of mine has just bought a sherco 290 which i will be testing out on Fri but by all accounts they are a bit powerful cheers Adam

ey up returning to trials after a few years off, got me license and went R6 crazy!! looking for a bike at the moment, & will be wanting to learn a few more skills. What are the thoughts on a fourstroke beta/ sherco? I've only ridden a txt 250 gasgas before! Cheers

Hi all, I dare say I was to report before diving straight into the melee. Anyway, name is Nubsey, and have just got a gas gas 125 txt 2000 for the grandson. Spares or repair. Well as we do not already own one it must be repair. Have had a few issues but we are getting there. Also the grandson is hopefully learning something about bikes etc. My trouble is that everything I done was years ago, so no spark was check the points or replace them. Not so anymore. So we are both learning. Still it's nice to see him walking about with a grin glued to his face like a Cheshire Cat. All the best to all Nubsey

Just back to trials after buying a 05 250 Gasser after a long time away from the sport and am thoroughly enjoying being back at it again. Based in Warrington and just done my first comp at Frodsham after a couple of practice sessions... think I may need a bit more practice yet !! Club and trial were great, people and organisers very friendly and helpful .. looking forward to many more there and to visiting some other clubs around the area and remembering how to keep my feet up a bit more !!

Hey gang, waiting for my 2013 Gas Gas Race to come in so I can start participating again. Been doing the family thing and now that their a little older it's time to ride again. Also been reading the great posts around here and thought I'd join in. Can't wait to get my new bike and start riding some more trials. See ya all around the site.

As you may have guessed I'm brand new to the site (it was recommended by a friend) I've just got my lad Andrew (he's 12) an old (1982ish) Suzuki TS125ER to learn on He has been having lessons at a place called BUMPY near Leeds where you can take your trial bike and ride to your hearts content - some of you may have already heard or even used this place, they have been really friendly and helpful and I recommend them highly to anyone who is looking to get into off roading. They don't allow crossers either - which can only be a good thing as they would probably bring the fatality figures above what their liability insurance will allow!!! Hi peeps i have just moved to Portugal and managed to borrow my brothers Gas Gas contact 250 ( not sure wot year ) its a non runner at the moment but when its sorted i'le be off up the hills , cant wait just need to get my head round the not starting problem

I've joined the forum because it seems like a good place to learn from folks who know much, much more than I do! I'm a retired teacher who has been riding on roads and trails from more than 40 years, but has never been on a trials bike. Now seems like a good time to correct that oversight, especially since I live in an area with lots of places that look perfect for trials riding (southern Illinois, in the Shawnee National Forest). I'm looking forward to reading and learning. Thanks!

Hi all. Went to my first trials meet 2 weeks ago and thought i must have a go before i get to fat or old! Just bought a 1978 Montesa Cota 348 in very good condition, I am not looking to be the next "Dougie" just to have some fun and do the easier sections. So, now i have the excuse to loose weight and get fit and the added benefit of joining a great sport. Jim

Back after a 5 year break. Had to sell my monty to fund a new van after my old one died in the snow. Got a bit sidetracked racing kite buggies down the beach for a.few years. Moved back to the UK after 8 long years on Jersey and finally bought another trials bike. Well. Actually bought a push trials bike to get fit and ready then got impatient and picked my sherco up last week. Waiting on helmet boots and club membership then I'm good to roll. Just need to get my old account opened up again now. The system won't send me a password reset. Possibly due to a Hotmail address? Can a mod help?
