I have a Montesa Cota 247 (?year) that I am starting to rebuild. I am in the Trials Club of Canberra, but I have not yet been active - no bike! I hope to change this in 2013.

Hey guys Just purchased "like new" Montesa COTA 4RT which is my first trials bike. I've been riding / racing since 1971 so been at it a while. Started out trail riding, did some enduros and became decent amateur motocross racer, then had a pretty good club level road racing career (ten years and several expert class championships) then went Formula car racing in SCCA and did okay but much better or may say more comfortable on a bike. Last 12 years racing hare scrambles and enduros but play / trail riding last couple years. Still love it and ride 3 to 4 weekends per month. So got the bug for a trials bike and purchased the Montesa so hope to have fun and improve all a…

Just a quick post to say hi. I'm a 39 year old who has just given up road riding after 23 years. I've spent the last six months without a bike & couldn't take it any longer, so went and bought a 2003 beta rev 3. After 8 days of ownership and four brief sessions I'm hooked. Fallen off a couple of times and jumped up laughing, brushed myself off and carried on. That wouldn't have happened on the road bike! I'll head off over to the Beta forum & browse about the others but looking forward to sharing my experiences and learning from the experience of everyone else.

Hi all, I'm new to the trials thing. Had a bike for a year or so, but rode it on and off like an enduro bike all over the place. 3 Weeks ago I was entered into a club ride by a mate of mine who converted from MX, and after that I was hooked!! :-) So now, I have to learn from scratch. Balancing, figure 8's etc etc. It's awesome fun, and the trials riders that I met so far are n great bunch of people...

Hi, new guy here, to the site and trials. I've been interested in trials for a long time just never crossed paths with the right bike for the right price until yesterday when I traded my very nice downhill bicycle for a 1995 GG JT250. Runs great. Think the rear shock needs to be rebuild doesn't seam to be alot happening back there but then again I really don't know anything about these bikes. I about had a heart failure when I read 80 and up to 100:1 mix. Had the bike for two days, 5 hrs of riding and absolutely loving it. Wife is getting a little grouchy at me for riding over every thing in the yard. Well any criticism good or bad on the bike or t…

Hi all, I joined up last month when some dirty scumbags stole my gasgas 280 from the back of my van, unfortunately its not been recovered! I have however bought a gasgas 250 as a replacement! I've been trail riding for years now but really fancied having a go at trials which i was enjoying before the robbery! I've not been out on the new bike yet due to a slight brake issue that i'll start another post about, cheers

Hi from sunderland, I purchased a gas gas 250 2009 last week! great fun! I've been out on it twice now Although I've had road bikes before I've never done any maintenance on them and I'm looking to take out my carb and blow it out but i don't know where to start? i'm guessing the fuel tank will have to come out? What comes out to get access to carb and in what order? What gets blown out? the jets and thats it? is there just two jets? Ive watched a 30 min video on just the carb alone (that didn't tell me what to blow out or how to get to the carb) on youtube but I'm kind of looking for an idiots guide firstly telling what to take off and which bit to blow out? Any on…
