Howdy all, I'm Josh I've been looking for some more info and people into trials for a while now and came across this site. This looks like the best forum around to get connected. Trials has been in my family for around 30 years. Enthusiasm here in Idaho Falls seems to come and go. At one point we almost had a club going then things slowed down and that happend serveral times (though we never got close to starting a club again). Currently I don't know anybody around here that actively rides anymore. At then end of last summer the swing arm on my '99 techno broke in half. I haven't fixed it because of the snow and my jeep (i do alot with local offroading clubs a…

Hi all, Ive been visiting these forums for information for years, and thought i should finally sign up! I live in Devon, England, and have been trail riding for years. I find myself enjoying the more technical riding more and more these days and so have decided to try and get into trials riding. I use a Suzuki DR350 for trail riding and have had it for about 5 years now, but recently picked up a MK3 Gas Gas Pampera 250 im fixing up in the hope of using it for trail riding, starting out in long distance trials and hopefully beginner trials too. Thanks, Hario

HI how strange another new member from colchester area. I have been riding bikes a long time and have had a couple of goes at trials in the past. I have a Bultaco 325 1976 recently restored, a 315 Montesa 2000, a BMW R1200S, (I love this machine), and a KTM EXC400 that I use for green laneing, I was a member of Castle Colchester, but now plan to join Braintree club as its more trials oriantated. I am a civil engineering consultant, this is a pain as it uses up to much time that could be better spent riding.

Just to say hello all. Back to trials after a loooong lay off, last competed about 1976 always rode Bultaco's but decided to go eyetie with a Beta in March - should have done it years ago, forgotten how much fun it was & how friendly the folks are. Any other old gits on here may have ridden with me years ago - my dad used to own "Netherthorpe Wood" near Worksop where the now defunct (as far as trials are concerned) Worksop & Retford clubs held trials. Hope to see some old faces at the trials - seen some already - strangely most seem to have become "follicularly challenged" like me - and we didn't wear helmets back then so can'y blame that. Ade

I rode trials in the 1950s on a rigid 350 BSA B32 The bike was in road trim as most of us rode to the trial in those days !! I introduced my son to the sport about 30 years ago. We went thru various bikes Bultaco Fantic Montesa etc. Time went by and the trialing faded for various reasons My son has taken the sport up again and introduced my grandson to the sport with an Oset. I find I can still ride without falling off so now have my all time favourite machine a Montesa twinshock a Cota 200 Its an ex farm bike and because of its condition doubt its ever been trialed Changed the oil fuelled it up and away it went !! Now waiting for a license I hope to compete at …

Hi everyone, i have not yet got a bike, i will be having one after xmass but i need some information first, i'm 51 this year and keep thinking may be i'm to old so i could do with some of the older members input about age, also things have moved on a bit since i had my last trials bike, it was a Bultaco 350 about 30 years ago so i'v been looking at Gasgas, Sherco and beta, they all look very much the same so any information on them would be great, good and bad, an important thing to me is how easy can i get parts for my bike and how easy is it to fix myself, also Montesa look the part, so anything on these four bikes would be a great help. Regards Tony

Hello folks , I've never set foot on a trials bike, ive road motorcycles since i was a kid and road with a few road race clubs for the last five year but never a trials bike and ive been told that its alot different to what im used to so I'm on the lookout for as much advice as I can get. I live in the Leeds area and would like to know where would be the best place to go and ride trials, what gear would you recommend I need and what bikes should be on my wish list. Two bikes keep cropping up in recommendations and that's the Shirco 290 and the Beta Rev3 250. Your opinions are much appreciated many thanks, Mick.

Well I am 27 years young from Ayrshire in Scotland. I currntly race mx and have done for oh 19 years now so bike experience that way is not a problem. I have also practiced pedal trials for around 7 years. I have good natural balance and decent bike skills both pedal and the engine powered kind. Anyway to cut a long story short I was practicing the other day getting ready for racing this weekend at Drumclog then due to lack of entries the race was cancelled. As motocross is such an exspensive sport and the fact that this year I have not gained any speed tells me that maybe I am ready to take a back seat on the mx thing. Thinking of trading in for a new 08 125 to keep for…

Hello from Seaton Delaval near Whitleybay and Blyth. My son and son-in-law have already joined up on here and just joined a local Club this week. The youngsters are planning on doing some trials in 2012 and me, well Im not sure if its my thing. But Im sure I'll be needed for transport and mechanical issues. Anyway this place looks like a good place to start doing Trials.

After years of wanting a trials bike I got one a couple days ago. It needed some work but I finally got it running and have rode around the yard a bit. Tomorrow is the first real ride. We will see. I have ridden and raced for many years but never attempted trials. I am excited to give it a go.

Hello Everyone, New to the Forum and indeed Trials... Earlier in the year i bought myself an old but exepctionally tidy, low use Gas Gas TXT 250 (2001), Love the chrome frame... Due to work and other biking commitments ive not really used it much but going forward into 2016 i want to put some real time & effort into getting out on it. Im a relative new comer to Bikes in general, i only started Riding in May this year (im 28), I jumped in the deep end and went straight into Enduro. from the get go i was constantly told to get a trails bike to improve overall... However in the last few weeks/months the trials bug has caught me, i really want to get some …

  14. Hi everybody I 'bought' a 2000 Montesa Cota 315 on Ebay but when I went to collect it it was a 97 so I said no thanks. It is cosmetically tatty, the exhaust has dents front & back, the grips have chunks missing, the kill switch is held on with a cable tie...you get the idea. However I think it is little used and in good mechanical condition...started easily, idled easily, revved freely, gears ok up & down , lots of brake pads, brakes worked ok, chain looked clean, tyres had life, rims unknocked, front & back wheels had no play in any direction etc etc I need a bike to be reliable above all else. Realistically I'm going to use it less than 10 times a year.…

Hello Everyone, I'm new to trials but have been riding bikes on road and track for some years. I am looking to take up trials riding and also to teach my 11 year old daughter to ride bikes and get her off her phone for longer than 5 minutes.. I will probably get a GasGas or Beta 250 but i am not sure what bike is suitable for my daughter. Any recommendations? Are there places/clubs to ride in West Midlands or Warwickshire suitable for beginners and maybe to get some training? Thanks in advance, Darren

  18. Not a lot of organized trials riding close to home town here in the west coast of Washington state, USA. Nice area though for off road trail riding and a lot of it is fun and technical enough for a trials machine. Several years ago I tried to interest the local riding fellows I ride with into getting trials motorcycles but no one was interested and I got a Sherco X-ride. Later a member of our group got a beat up Yamaha TY250, which lead to a later year Montesa 4RT, and others have bought trials motorcycles and are really into how neat trials riding is. After going to a couple trials events I decided to move from the Sherco X-ride to a trials machine and knowing my skill l…

Hey there. I used to ride trials as a lad and I am just about to buy a bike before i get too damn old! So far so good. The one thing that is putting me off is the sever lack suitable places to practice in worcestershire. I intend to enter local trials but would like to make a fool of myself somewhere less public to start off with :-) Has anyone got any suggestions? Cheers Dave
