Hey everyone, Names Doug from Inverness, Scotland New to trials trying get into it to help my enduro riding on my KTM 300exc and just get better overall slow speed bike control. Figuring out what kind of bike to go for tho is a nightmare as I haven't got a huge budget, and there is so many different bikes and conflicting information. Also I'm a heavy lad (around 18 Stone) so was worried what bikes would manage my weight as trial bikes don't seem to have the heavest suspension around. I've been looking at a 2010 290 Beta Evo guy was wanting £1800 for it which i thought was a really good price as it's just been nickle plated back down to a Size A piston and the bike is…

What a great site this is ! I've just bought my first trials bike - and its what seems a quite well sorted Bantam. Its going to take some getting used to... as I am a complete novice ! I had a little ride around last night, and my novice status would have been completely apparent ? It's such a different riding position - such high bars and the pegs so far back - it's going to take some getting used to. It felt like the steering is largely done through weighting the legs - and the thing is bigger and heavier than I'd realised. Great fun though ! I only have a tiny space I can practice in at home - a small gravel area outs…

I need to get information Parts/Workshop Manual to be able to give it a good servoce, Engine Oil, Fork Oil etc. There does not seem to be any after market manals avialable - I have checked with Yamaha Motor Co. Hi there, just registered with this website after reading some of the advice etc on Honda's TLR Models. I've had my big bore 200 since school and only recently pulled it out of the shed after arriving back from Australia and NZ some 9 years later. the bike has done very little work since an engine rebuild back in 1997 and has been basically gathering dust since around 2000. I've recently stripped the bike and am weighing up the various options (powder coating, enamel finish etc). The dilema i am currently facing is that a neighbour who has been after the bike for years recently revealed some knowledge of the bike that i had no idea about... I bought the bike as a bored ou…

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, recently bought myself a 2002 Montesa 315r, to get back into trials after an eight year break. Rode my first trial last weekend, and it was like I'd never been away, awesome! Also got an old Fantic 200 which is ripe for restoration, that'll be the project over the next few months... Hopefully chat with some of you soon, Ben :-)

Hi to all, I've used this tremendous source of information regarding trials for many years, a divorce stopped my riding a few years back, but following a move to farm in north Devon, a new to me bike purchase, a desire to have fun and do local trials made me finally sign. If your interested a bought a sherco st290 of 2012 vintage bought purely on condition/price for its age, I've ridden , montesa, scorpa, beta but this is my first sherco, I intend to enjoy riding again.

Hi, A couple of weeks ago I bought a 1979 Bultaco Sherpa 250, really nice bike and restored by its former keeper. I have pretty much zero trialing experience although I have been riding bikes for around 35 years (probably a familiar tale!). Eventually I would like to enter some novice twin shock events if I can get my skill level beyond hopeless and the bike set up right! Anyway, i'm based in Cumbria near to Kirkby Stephen, are there any local clubs anyone can recommend? Cheers.

  16. That was a sad day. My last trial as I was going overseas to work. Hi my name is Dave Raw and I had a great time living to Trial for six years or so.. The good old days of Norman Crooks in Northallerton. I did try to get back into Trialing but with commitments it never worked. I am working in Aberdeen through the week then traveling home for the weekend so little time to start now but I have and always will have the "feet up" blood in my vains. I was told of Trials Central so now I have a home page to visit.. Looks very good also by the way. Dave

Hi to all, I've always known about trials but never really rode the sport. I've owned a motorcycle of some kind since I was 13 (53 now) and raced in motocross and harescrambles formats but I finally got to ride a GasGas trials bike last October at NEOTT's event here in Oklahoma, Oktobertest, (a big thanks to Jason Shackleford of NEOTT, Jon Stoodley of JSE, and Dale Malasek of GasGas USA for the opportunity). It was a blast and I really worked up a good sweat playing on the bike, I also got to follow Pat Smage through all the sections, it was amazing the things he did on a bike. Now I've got the "trials bug". Anyway, I'm restoring a 1974 TL125 for my girlfriend and fo…

Greetings, I have a vintage '82? Fantic Trial 300, mostly all there in need of some restoration, shock rebuild, fork seals, paint? I have had this bike for a number of years but is a little different than what I am used to. I ride an aluminum frame '01 CR250 with a CR500 engine, predominantly in the sand dunes, Glamis and Dumont in California. recently made a trip to Arizona with a group doing alot more technical stuff, boy was I out of my comfort zone. long story made shorter, I figured I would bring out the old girl and setup some obsticals in the yard and learn a different style of riding. This seems to be the place

Hi, new to TC. First started riding TL125 in 1982, moving on to TY175, progressing to Majesty 250 and Montesa Honda 349 in 1984. Still have the 349 and have had it stored since last 15 years. Now feel the need to get back out there in Caithness and Sutherland on the 349 having given it a make over. Red
