Sherco 290 04 Cutting Out

Featured Replies

just got a 2004 290 sherco last weekend. when i tried it it was fine. went out today for the first time and it just cut out after about 500 yards, rev.d up abit on its own then stopped? felt like petrol not getting through.

any ideas? i am a complete novice and would really like some help before taking it the my nearest shop which is 40 miles away and i haven't brought my bike rack yet!

That kind of thing happened to me today in the field out back

T'was the plug and it ran fine after i changed it

before anything try a new plug, if no different check kill switch

Yep - change the plug, and if you haven't already strip the carb and blow it all out, including the inlet filter.

Strip off the airbox and make sure you get it spotless. Big cloth pushed down with a big screwdriver, bamboo or summat to get in there.
