November 19, 200619 yr Help! I've tried all the usual suspects but it still wont spark. It had a new condenser and points 6 months ago so i'm guessing it's not them.
November 20, 200619 yr Assuming you have checked with a known plug, removed kill switch, checked plug end, etc. Ohm the coil, I think it was 1.6 or 1.8 ohms. See if it is open or shorted. check wire. Check point gap and crank bearing on left side. As the bearing gets bad, the slop affects point gap. ?tightening up the gap (I think 012 to 016 is stock?) some might help. That will ONLY confirm a problem, the fix is new main bearings, but that is not too bad, and available from a bearing supply house quite cheap. kcj
