has anyone had a problem with the barrel / chrome liner pitting at the Exhaust port area

the bike sound like its 5 years old

would anyone hazard a guess as to why ?

this bike is only 9 months old

I have not heard of such, maybe you should get the dealer to inspect it to determine a possible cause such as water entry or a defect in the plating.

Measurements need to be taken as well to determine wear on the bore and piston.

barrel has been sent to dealer

i had to buy a new barrel and piston etc.

if the waranty claim is sucessful i will get a refund
