December 7, 200619 yr Nearly there with the Cub have had it running but it is not right. It is fitted with the Del-Orto carb but to start it needs the throttle open with the choke on, when the choke is released the engine dies. Can any one tell me have you had to change to any different jet sizes etc in these carbs or alter anything, also what jets, cutaway etc did your carb come with. Thank you in advance for any help.
December 7, 200619 yr This may sound a bit odd, but have you checked you have an idle jet ? I had the same symptoms couldn't figure it out, spend hours lifting the head checking timing etc etc and then I thought I blow out the card and hey presto I was missing a jet. Unlikely, but worth the 2 mins it takes to check. From memory I have a 35 idle in.
December 9, 200619 yr Author Thanks Subira I now have it running well, there seemed to be some debris within the carb but the airline has dealt with it.
