January 28, 200719 yr What are your opinions of whether to go the powder coat or painting route on my TLR frame. The bike is in 100 bits now soits time for a makeover. Powder coating does give a nice finish but I feel is prone to chipping (from experience & different coaters). Paint is east to touch up.
January 28, 200719 yr Paint it , have had my seeley frame powder coated and is easily chipped when rebuilding.
January 28, 200719 yr I painted my tlr frame with some acrylic enamel over primer and a coat of clear, which i though would be quite durable. But it still gets scraped and chipped easerly. Thought maybe i should have powder coated it, but seems that that gets chipped easy too. So i would like to know what a good durable finish people have used too.
January 30, 200719 yr I'd say get it nickel coated.I know it won't be the right colour but it last's forever and in my view make's the bike more eye catching.
January 30, 200719 yr That's a good idea! Nickel coated or chromed. It would look great but probably expensive though. I'll have to look into that option.
