Speak to a chemical engineer. It's used as a catalyst in some processes.

If you get some alloy mesh i can powder coat it transparent gold to look like anodised gold

I got some from Sainsbury's Home Base!

They stock a small amount of metal angle etc and some sheet and with that is assorted mesh
